Every year, 25th September is celebrated as Global Day of action as the SDG Day. Being a signatory to UN Global Compact, GFL is committed to implement and monitor the progress made on SDGs to support the country in ending poverty, hunger, AIDS, Discrimination against women and girls and climate emergency. We understand and believe that as a responsible business entity, we have a have an important role to play in achieving the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Our CSR strategy, through its CSR activities, seeks to systematically integrate the SDGs with the economic, environmental and social impact with the business, with the vision of a sustainable future.

Ranjitnagar Handicraft

Ranjitnagar Handicraft, a social enterprise under GFL's CSR initiatives, empowers vulnerable women in the Ranjitnagar area through skill training and support. Over 160 women have learned tailoring at the GFL Skill Training Centre, forming self-help groups (SHGs). Some SHG members have become small entrepreneurs, earning Rs 1500 to Rs 15,000 per month by stitching and selling jute bags and other handicraft items. This initiative has fostered self-confidence and self-reliance, truly empowering these women.
